About Blue Star Mothers of Northern Virginia Chapter VA-5
The Blue Star Mothers of Northern Virginia Chapter VA-5 is a nonprofit organization made up of mothers who have sons or daughters currently serving, or who have served, in the United States Armed Forces. Our chapter is a proud part of the national Blue Star Mothers network, dedicated to supporting military families, honoring service members, and giving back to those who defend our country.
Our mission is to provide emotional support, advocacy, and camaraderie for military mothers, while also offering compassion and care to Gold Star Mothers—those who have lost a son or daughter in service to our nation. We understand the sacrifices that military families make, and we are committed to ensuring that no mother feels alone in her journey.
As part of the broader Blue Star Mothers organization, our chapter advocates for veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. We strive to build strong community connections through volunteer efforts, care packages, public outreach, and various initiatives aimed at honoring the military service and sacrifice of our troops.
What We Do:
- Support for Blue Star Mothers: We provide a network of emotional support for mothers whose children are currently serving in the military. We share experiences and provide comfort to one another through shared understanding.
- Support for Gold Star Mothers: We offer compassion, empathy, and a safe space for Gold Star Mothers who have lost a child in service to our country. We are here to honor their memories and ensure that they are never forgotten.
- Care Packages: We send care packages to active-duty service members, bringing a touch of home to those deployed far from their families.
- Community Outreach: Through local events, charity drives, and partnerships with other military organizations, we work to raise awareness about the sacrifices made by military families and strengthen our community.
